| Most pharmaceutical
companies have programs to assist patients who lack prescription drug coverage and who are unable to afford
their medications. While this is certainly preferable to using
pharmaceutical samples, many who have used these programs have
found them burdensome and time consuming. However, thanks to the internet these programs have become appreciably easier to navigate in recent years.
The goal of both NeedyMeds and Rxassist is to make information about these programs more readily accessible. RxOutreach is a patient assistance program that provides generic medications for individuals at or below 250% of the U.S. Federal Poverty Level, for a fee of $18 for a 3 month prescription or $30 for a 6 month prescription. We welcome comments from health care providers about their experiences with these programs. |
